Pastor Joanne – Overseas Ministry
Pastor Joanne served full-time from 2004 to 2009 at Yan Fook Church, Evangelical Free Church of China. During this time, she was primarily responsible for coordinating and mobilizing the church’s evangelism training ministry. Throughout this period, she also participated in multiple short-term overseas ministries, including serving in an orphanage after the Indonesian tsunami and ministering at an orphanage established for children who are blind.
Through these short-term cross-cultural experiences, God opened her eyes to the needs beyond the walls of the church. In 2009, with the blessings of Yan Fook Church, she joined Watoto Child Care Ministries — a global organization under Watoto Church in Uganda, Africa — as Asia Region Project Manager and Asia Tour Coordinator. In this role, she served on the front lines, ministering to Ugandan orphans and widows, while also mobilizing, promoting, and providing education across Asia. She developed numerous strategic partnerships and helped raise public awareness of the needs of underprivileged communities in Africa. Over seven years of service, she gained valuable cross-cultural frontline experience and continued to expand her global perspective.
